Nursery: Blueberry Nursery School, Hove, 5 Davigdor Road, Hove, BN3 1QB
Hours: Part Time, 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £13 - £13.50 (depending on experience)

What you'll be doing
The Nursery Parent Liaison Coordinator is responsible for fostering positive relationships between the nursery or early years setting and parents, ensuring effective communication and a high level of parental involvement in their child's early years education. This role serves as a key point of contact for parents, addressing their queries, concerns, and feedback while promoting a welcoming and supportive environment.
Responsibilities will be as follows:-
Parent Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, providing clear, timely, and consistent communication regarding their child’s progress, events, and any issues that arise.
Parental Engagement: Organize and facilitate regular parent meetings, workshops, and events to promote active parent involvement in the nursery’s activities and their child’s development.
Feedback Management: Gather and assess feedback from parents, ensuring their concerns or suggestions are addressed in a professional and effective manner.
Child Development Support: Provide parents with information about child development, educational programs, and resources that can support their child’s learning and growth.
Liaise with Staff: Work closely with teaching staff to ensure that parents are kept up-to-date with their child’s progress and developmental milestones.
Conflict Resolution: Address any concerns or complaints from parents in a sensitive and timely manner, ensuring resolutions align with the nursery’s policies and ethos.
Data Management: Maintain accurate records of parent communications, meetings, and feedback, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations.
Parental Education: Create and share resources or provide workshops on relevant topics such as early years development, parenting strategies, or supporting learning at home.
What you'll need
- Previous experience in a parent liaison or similar role, preferably in an early years setting
- Previous experience in organizing parent-focused events or workshops
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with parents and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of early childhood development and educational practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a positive, solution-focused approach
- Ability to listen attentively and respond sensitively to parents’ needs and concerns
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with attention to detail
- Comfortable in building and maintaining strong relationships with parents, staff, and other stakeholders
- Discretion in managing sensitive family or child information
- Familiarity with relevant policies and regulations concerning early years education
- A Qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is desirable
